Glamping in Norfolk

Although jet setting to new countries is always exciting and something I love to do, sometimes there is nothing better than a trip exploring your own country. The UK has so much to offer, with such a diversity of places to visit, from city breaks to sea-side stays, you are never short of places to explore or return to.

With this in mind, I booked a mid-week stay to Norfolk for James' birthday.

James had mentioned once or twice how he fancied going camping again, so I met him in the middle and booked us in to a Shepherd's Hut for a spot of glamping at Woodstock Farm.

We were greeted upon arrival by our lovely host. We spent the afternoon exploring the local area and picking up some bits which we needed for the next few days.

That night we had booked a table at The Bedingfeld Arms in Oxborough and we had the best time at the restaurant which served the most delicious locally produced dishes.

We skipped pudding, heading back to our campsite for hot chocolates and marshmallows toasted on the chiminea.

I woke before James the next morning (the usual!) and enjoyed reading my kindle outside with a cup of green tea.

After breakfast and a few games of cards we headed to Thetford Forest to hire bikes at Bike Art. After being kitted out, we braved the poacher trail, a 10 mile moderate course. It was tough at some points, and I could feel it the next day!

Once we finished at Thetford, we headed back to Oxborough to explore the gardens and grounds of Oxburgh Hall. The lovely lady at the ticket booth ALMOST convinced us to purchase National Trust memberships, but we decided we may be a *little* too young for that!

That evening we ate dinner at the camp site, with a BBQ and prosecco!

When we awoke on our final day, we packed up and set off towards the coast. A trip to Norfolk wouldn't be the same without a trip to the seaside. First stop was Burnham Market, where we enjoyed strolling around and choosing our dream homes.

We finished our trip in Wells-Next-The-Sea, parking up in the town and taking a walk to the beach and back, before enjoying the most delicious fish and chips.

There really is nothing like a staycation!
