Marrakech Part Three // Moroccan Adventure
Our time in Marrakech was quickly coming to an end. With just one full day left, we set out to explore a few of the tourist sites we hadn't yet seen.
First up was the Ben Youssef Madrasa, an ancient Islamic college which was founded in the 14th century, and re-opened as a historical site in 1982.
The archiecture and design of the college is really breathtaking, with dormitory cells clustered around a courtyard, with carvings of inscriptions and geometric patterns lining every surface.
The uniformity of the rooms and corridors makes it a maze to explore, and the light which shines into the building gives a real sense of spirituality.
Another fascinating feature were the tiles which were constructed of geometric patterns.
It was a real case of #ihaveathingforfloors!
Of course, we had to get a few classic tourist snaps, taken from across the courtyard of each other framed in the little windows!
We spent the rest of the day in the souks buying souvenirs and taking a last look at all the things which make Marrakech such a lively and buzzing place.
For our final meal of the trip, we dined at Bakchich, a little cafe/restaurant just two minutes from our hostel.
And so, another adventure was over!
