NYE at Winter Wonderland

After a wonderful Christmas spent at home, NYE seemed like the perfect opportunity to get out of our home town for a few days and do some exploring.

Molly, Huw, James and myself opted to spend NYE day in London, hot footing around all of the festive sights before everything was packed away for another year.

First stop, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

Winter Wonderland is the ultimate Christmas destination, perfect for milling around and getting in to the festive spirit, even after the big day itself has passed!

The festival is chock-a-block with tasty treats and enticing dishes.

There are also lots of perfect photo opportunities which just couldn't be missed!

Leaving Winter Wonderland, we wondered across Hyde Park to the nearest tube station and hopped on towards our next destination, Borough Market.

If you have never been, you are in for a treat. Hidden below railway arches, the Borough food market is a haven for foodies. Delicacies and cuisines from all over the world can be found there, from traditional pie and chips to Ethiopian curry dishes.

Unsurprisingly, I opted for the Falafel stall which offered fresh falafel drenched in tahini, chilli sauce, hummus and served on a bed of salad.

We spent the rest of the day wondering around some of our favourite touristy London destinations; South Bank, Covent Garden and Oxford Street, before catching the train back to Stevenage for a dinner party.

We saw in 2015 snuggled up on the sofa with a glass of prossecco, watching the fireworks on the television and telling each other our resolutions for 2015.

Here is to a prosperous and fulfilling 2015!
